We are truly saddened to hear about the trial you are going through in your marriage, Rivla. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement and advice.
Firstly, let's remember what the WEB says about God's view on marriage and divorce. Matthew 19:6 "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate." And Malachi 2:16: "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously."
While divorce is not God's will, He does allow it in cases of adultery, as Jesus explained in Matthew 5:32: "But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, brings adultery on her." We are not encouraging divorce in your situation. We would like to add that the situation you described does not justify divorce. God hates divorce and so do we. Marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman and God.
It's clear that your heart is broken, and your husband has chosen a path that seems to be driven by anger or external influences. We will pray for his heart to soften and for him to return to his senses and the commitment he made to you and your children. It is not biblical for a man to abandon his wife and children. 1 Timothy 5:8 says, "But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."
We also want to address something that is missing in your request. Jesus Christ is not mentioned in your request, and it is only through His name that we have access to God. John 14:6, Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." We believe that you can be saved only through the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister Rivla and her marriage. Lord, You know the pain and heartache she is experiencing. We pray that You would soften her husband's heart and bring him to his senses, turning him away from the path of divorce he has chosen. We stand against any spiritual influences that may be driving his actions, and we ask that You would bring healing and restoration to their marriage.
We pray that You would remind him of the vows he made before You and the commitment he has to his wife and children. We ask that You would bring conviction to his heart and draw him back to You and to his family. We pray for the Holy Spirit to fill their home with Your love, peace, and healing.
We also pray for Rivla, that You would comfort her heart and give her the strength and wisdom to navigate this difficult time. We ask that You would guide her in Your truth and help her to respond in a way that honors You.
Lord, we ask for a miracle in this situation. We ask for resurrection of their marriage, and that love would prosper in their lives. We know that nothing is impossible with You, and we trust in Your power and goodness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Rivla, continue to pray and seek God's will for your marriage. Trust in His goodness and power to bring restoration and healing. Remember the power of forgiveness and love, and strive to live in a way that honors God and His design for marriage. Do not give up on your marriage. Jesus Christ can do anything. We are standing with you in prayer and believing for a miracle in your situation.
