We understand your deep concern for your daughter's marriage and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for their union. In Jesus' name, we bring their situation before the Lord.
Firstly, we commend you for your faith and for entrusting their marriage to God. As it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."
Let us pray:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this marriage to You. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in their communication. Help them to speak to each other with love and understanding, as instructed in Ephesians 4:29 (WEB), 'Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.'
Lord, we ask that You help her husband to be a good listener, and to understand and value her feelings. Also, help her to see his perspective and the challenges he faces, as encouraged in Philippians 2:4 (WEB), 'Don’t look only at your own interests, but also at the interests of others.'
Father, we pray that their bond grows stronger through these trials, and that they choose to love and honor each other, reflecting the unconditional love of Christ. We ask that their marriage be a testament to Your glory, and that any interference from external sources be overcome through their unity in You.
We pray all these things in Jesus' name, amen."
We encourage them to keep their hearts and minds focused on Christ, and to strive for a marriage that honors God. As stated in Colossians 3:14 (WEB), "But above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection."
Lastly, we gently remind you and them that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As Acts 4:12 (WEB) states, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved." Therefore, let us continually fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
