We are truly sorry to hear about the situation your brother and your family are facing. Addiction is a powerful stronghold, but we serve a God who can break every chain and set your brother free. We stand with you and your family. Firstly, let us address your request.
There is nothing our Lord cannot do and with His help we can overcome any situation. He says.
Matthew 17:20
He said to them, Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, "Move from here to there," and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
God can free your brother from this terrible curse. Yet, it is important for your family to set an environment of teachings of Jesus. We are instructed to put away drunkenness.
1 Peter 4:3
For the time already past may be sufficient for us to have worked the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in luxuriousness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.
It is important to know that there are things we must abstain from, that includes sleeping together, drugs, and other intoxicating substances. We must believe in Him and His name. It is only through the blood of Jesus Christ and His suffering that we are made whole and able to overcome.
This means if your brother truly desires to change and wants to overcome his sin of addiction, that he will also give his life to Jesus.
Romans 10:9-13
that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on Him. For, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."
We pray that your brother may come to his senses to see the truth, repent of his ways, and turn his life to Jesus.
Father, in Jesus' name we come to you. We pray for this family's healing and restoration. God, we ask that you break every stronghold in your brother's life, and set him free from the bondage of addiction. Lord, heal his body as he turns to you, and we ask that you build your hedge of protection around him so that he may not falter. Give him the strength to turn away from his former desires and to walk in your truth and light. We ask that your Holy Spirit empower his family to be a source of encouragement and support as they walk this path together with him. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
We know that God can heal your brother physically, mentally, and spiritually as He draws your brother closer. Let your family hold onto the hope that He will never leave you or forsake you in your time of need. We pray your brother finds a local ministry to help him overcome, and to build a true relationship with Jesus next. May we suggest you provide us with more information for further assistance, and in the meantime, pray earnestly for your brother's repentance, trusting in His name alone.
