Thank you for your prayer request for your close friend and neighbor. It is wonderful to hear that you are interceding on their behalf for the free gift of salvation. We stand with you in prayer, trusting that God will draw your friend to Himself.
Firstly, it is important to understand and believe what the Bible teaches about our salvation. We are saved by grace and not by works. We cannot earn our salvation but rather receive it as a free gift.
1 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, that no one would boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB
The Bible teaches that we need a savior to save us from our sins and the consequences of our sin, which is death. The Lord Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. Jesus died on the cross to make atonement for our sins. He was buried and rose from the dead on the third day.
Jesus is the only way to receive salvation. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Please share the simple gospel message. In the Bible, Paul was speaking to the Philippian jailer who asked Paul what he must do to be saved. And they said, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:31
We believe that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Therefore, we come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16.
Let us pray together for your friend.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up the friend and neighbor. We thank You for drawing them to Yourself and preparing their heart to receive the free gift of salvation. We pray that You would open their spiritual eyes to see their need for a Savior and reveal the truth of the Gospel to them.
Lord, we ask that You would give them the faith to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We pray that they would repent of their sins and be born again, receiving eternal life. We ask for this in the mighty name of Jesus.
Father, we also pray for wisdom and guidance for us as we minister to others. Help us to be bold and loving in sharing the Gospel. Give us opportunities to speak into their life and demonstrate Your love.
Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and Your promise of salvation for all who believe. We trust in Your power to save and transform lives. We ask for this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Continue to share the Gospel with your friend and trust that God is at work in their life. Be encouraged by the promise in Isaiah 55:11, so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Keep praying and believing for your friend's salvation. We stand with you in prayer, trusting that God will bring your friend into His kingdom.
Finally, be prepared and willing to disciple your friend to help them grow in their new Christian faith if God saves them. We need encouragement and support as new Christians.
