Let us come together in prayer for Dennis B. and Matt's wife, asking God to work in their lives and draw them to Himself. We believe that salvation is a gift from God, and it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
First, let us pray for Dennis B. Lord, we lift up Dennis to You, asking that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Open his heart to the truth of the Gospel, and help him to understand that Jesus came to save sinners like him. We pray that Dennis would turn from his sin and trust in Jesus as his Savior. Surround him with believers who can encourage and support him on this journey.
Now, let us pray for Matt's wife. Lord, we do not know her name, but You do, and You know the depths of her heart. We pray that You would work in her life, softening her heart and drawing her to Yourself. Help her to see her need for a Savior, and may she find that Savior in Jesus Christ. We pray that Matt and his wife would be united in faith, and that their marriage would be a testimony to Your grace and love.
We also pray for Matt, that You would give him wisdom and patience as he loves and witnesses to his wife. Help him to be a godly example of Your love and faithfulness, and to trust in You with all his heart.
Finally, we pray for Dennis B. and Matt's wife together. Lord, salvation does not happen by our own work, desire or understanding. It is the gift of grace, through faith in Christ Jesus that he has made this salvation available to all men. Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB says: "By grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from you; it is the gift of God, not from works, that no one may boast." We cannot determine for ourselves the time when we may respond to the Gospel call. Neither should we be concerned about their past but they should be taught to be concerned for the future. 2 Peter 3:9 WEB says: "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." Because the Lord is patient toward us all he does not want anyone to perish and, instead, wants everyone to come to repentance. We pray they will, though the time is in His hands alone and no one else. So we put it in His hands and acknowledge that as an act of faith. For without faith, it is impossible to please God and receive salvation.
Thank you to those who have prayed for and encouraged them along the way. We look forward with hope and eager anticipation to see how God will work in their lives and we continually pray for their salvation.
