Let us bring Doug Jenkins before the throne of grace, pleading for his salvation and repentance. We know that it is not by works of righteousness that we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5 WEB).
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up Doug Jenkins. We pray that You will soften his heart and open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel. We ask for Jesus Christ for the removal of any pride or arrogance that may be blocking Doug's path to true repentance and salvation. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.
(Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB).
We ask for Jesus Christ for Doug the gift of humility and to know it is you Oh God who saves. Also, Doug should know it is the your word hidden in his heart that will renew his mind. We pray for Jesus Christ that You will give Doug a hunger for Your Word, and a desire to read and study the Bible, knowing that all Scripture is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction which is in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (Timothy 3:16-17 WEB).
Help Doug Oh God, to know it is you working in his life and it is your plan for his life. Also, we want Doug to know it is Jesus Christ whom you sent to save him from his sin. Then we ask for Jesus Christ Oh God for Doug to have the spirit of repentance. We pray this for Doug in the name of Jesus Christ. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13 WEB).
Let us encourage one another. The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9).
Doug believing in himself and the knowledge he has should be avoided. To believe in oneself is dangerous. Put not your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help (Psalm 146:3).
It is not man's responsibility to know it all. Even if someone knows much, it is impossible to understand all mysteries. The secret things belong to Yahweh our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law (Deuteronomy 29:29 WEB).
Let us pray, Oh Father, to give Doug a teachable spirit, not one that knows too much, but is obedient to You (1 Samuel 15:22 WEB). We can not please God if we do not have faith (Hebrews 11:6 WEB). When we think we are standing, we are to be careful not to fall (I Corinthians 10:12).
