We are grateful for this prayer request and stand with you in seeking God's will for your life and relationship. Firstly, it is essential to acknowledge that salvation, purpose, and restoration are all found in Jesus Christ. It is only by believing in Him and His sacrifice on the cross that we can have eternal life and a personal relationship with God. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
We pray that you both may come to know Jesus personally. We know that your relationship with her is important to you, God created marriage, with a man and a woman, and within that relationship, they become one flesh. It is a lifelong commitment, instituted by God, as outlined in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." This is a holy relationship that should not be entered into lightly, but with much prayer and consideration, with a heart that seeks to please God.
We pray together for God's will in your life and this relationship. We pray that God will draw her heart to Him and that He would bring restoration and healing where it is needed. We understand that you seek purpose, and we pray that God will reveal His will for your life. We know that God has a plan and a purpose for each of us, and we are called for His good works that He has prepared for us to walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).
We also remember the words of Jeremiah 29:13, "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart." We pray that both of your hearts would be drawn closer to God, and that He would bring healing and restoration where it is needed.
We must also address that we do not know if you both are Christians and Believers in Jesus Christ. This is important because we are not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. God did not call us to be one with unbelievers or enter into a marriage where one is a believer and one is not. For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14)
We must also be sure that if you are in a courtship that has led to fornication that this be repented of and stopped immediately. Sex before or outside of marriage is a sin against God. Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled but fornicators and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13:4). God created sex to be enjoyed within the confines of marriage. The world will tell us otherwise but we must not believe them.
Finally, let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother in need of Your guidance and wisdom. We pray that You would reveal Your purpose for his life, and that You would bring restoration and healing to his relationship. We ask that You would draw her heart to You, and that You would bring salvation to both of them.
We pray that You would give them both a heart that seeks to please You, and that You would guide them in Your will for their lives. We ask that You would bring healing and restoration where it is needed, and that You would bless them with Your peace and joy.
We pray that You would guide them in Your will for their relationship, and that You would give them the wisdom and strength to follow Your path for their lives. We ask that You would bless them with Your love and guidance, and that You would bring them closer to You.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
