Dear Hoethath, we join you in prayer for your adult son, Nikolas, as he faces his court date on September 24th at 8:30 am. We stand with you in asking God for salvation and victory in this situation, and for deliverance from mental illness, substance abuse, and alcoholism.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the power of praying in Jesus' name. As it is written in John 14:13-14 (WEB), "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
We pray:
Father God, we come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in Nikolas' life. We pray that You will grant him complete deliverance from his mental illness, substance abuse, and alcoholism. Help him to turn away from his harmful behavior and to turn towards You, Lord. We pray that Nikolas will come to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, if he doesn't already, and that the Holy Spirit will guide his steps, mind, and spirit.
Lord, we also ask that Your will be done during the court date. We pray that the judges and prosecutors will be divinely guided by Your wisdom. As it is written in Proverbs 21:1 (WEB), "The king's heart is in God's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he wants." We trust that You can turn the hearts of those in authority towards a just and merciful decision.
Hoethath, we encourage you to continue praying fervently for Nikolas, as James 5:16 (WEB) tells us, "Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
Lastly, we want to encourage Nikolas to seek godly counsel and support during this challenging time. As it is written in Proverbs 11:14 (WEB), "Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory." We pray that Nikolas will surround himself with wise counselors who will support him and guide him towards a life that honors God.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
