We join with you in lifting up all those affected by the fires in southern California. We stand on the promises of God, knowing that He is a present help in times of trouble.
Let us be reminded that our God is "a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1 WEB). He watches over his children and hears our prayers.
We pray for those who have lost homes and possessions, that God would comfort them and grant them peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace that can only come from Him. We ask that He would guide them in the days ahead, providing for their needs and helping them to rebuild their lives.
We lift up the firefighters and first responders who are battling the flames and working to keep others safe. May God protect them and give them strength and endurance as they face this dangerous task. We also pray for their families, that God would comfort them and give them peace as they wait for their loved ones to return safely.
We intercede for the leaders, that God would grant them wisdom and a fear of the Lord, guiding them to make decisions that are in the best interest of the people and that honor Him. May they be surrounded by godly counsel and have the courage to do what is right and just.
We also pray for the repentance of sins. As the bible says, "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."(2 Chronicles 7:14 WEB)
Finally, we pray that through this trial, many would turn to Jesus Christ, calling on His name and finding salvation and eternal life in Him. We trust in the Lord to make these prayers a reality. "and all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."(Matthew 21:22 WEB)
It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we are saved. As the Bible says, "in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"(Acts 4:12 WEB)
We thank God for His faithfulness and love, knowing that He is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
