We join with you in lifting up your fiancé and your situation to the Lord. Firstly, we are thankful that you both believe in Jesus and have acknowledged that God has a purpose in all things. It is so important to remember that His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9, WEB).
We pray that God will grant your fiancé a safe return home. We stand with you in faith, asking God to protect him from all harm and danger, as we are reminded in Psalm 91:9-12 (WEB), "Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your tent. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."
While we understand the desire for full benefits at retirement, we must remember that our ultimate trust should be in God, not in the uncertain riches of this world. The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 6:17-19 (WEB), "Charge those who are rich in this present world that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of eternal life."
We also want to encourage you both to remain steadfast in your faith and walk with the Lord. As your fiancé is working in an ungodly environment, we pray that he will be a light in the darkness, not conforming to the world, but being transformed by the renewing of his mind (Romans 12:2, WEB).
Lastly, we want to remind you both of the importance of seeking God's will in your relationship. As you prepare for marriage, ensure that your union will be centered around Christ and His teachings. Remember that "a wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whoever she desires, only in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 7:39, WEB).
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this couple to You. We thank You for their faith in You and their desire to see Your purpose fulfilled. Lord, we ask that You bring this man home safely to his fiancée. Protect him from all harm and danger, and guide him in all his ways. Help them both to trust in You and not in the uncertain riches of this world. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
