We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing in your marriage and family life. Let's first turn to the Word of God for guidance and comfort.
1 Peter 5:7 WEB
Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB
Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Firstly, it's crucial to understand that your feelings of sadness and disrespect are valid, and God cares about your situation. However, it's also important to remember that God calls us to love and respect even in difficult circumstances.
As a wife, you are called to be a helper to your husband, and as a Christian, you must strive to live peaceably with others. Romans 12:18 WEB
If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
However, this does not mean you should endure sinful behavior without address. The actions of your husband's family members, including theft and substance abuse, are clearly against God's will. It's important to address these issues with wisdom and love. I Corinthians 13:6 reminds us that love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth.
We advise you to pray fervently for your husband and his family. Pray that God will convict them of their sins and bring them to repentance. Remember that your battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil. Ephesians 6:12 WEB
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
It's also crucial to communicate openly with your husband about your feelings and concerns. Do so in a loving and respectful manner, ensuring that he understands the severity of the situation. Remember the word of Ephesians 4:15 WEBS
but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ;
Lastly, we want to remind you of the power of prayer and the promise that God is always with you. Psalm 34:17-18 WEB
The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister who is feeling sad, disrespected, and overwhelmed. Lord, we ask that You comfort her and guide her through this challenging time. Give her the wisdom to address the sinful behaviors in her household with love and truth. Convict her husband and his family of their sins, and bring them to repentance. Help our sister to communicate openly with her husband, and grant them the unity and strength to navigate this situation together. Remind her of Your unfailing love and presence. In Jesus Name.
This prayer request did not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name), so we need to discuss this issue. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible says that all who call on the name of Jesus will be saved. We need to know that you called on the name of Jesus and have received him as your Saviour.
