We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and loneliness you experienced this Thanksgiving. It's commendable that you are persistent in prayer and refuse to give up on your grandson. Let's come together in God's help.
Let us first address the issue of your grandson's behavior and his father's influence. It's clear that both have chosen paths that are not honoring to God. The Bible tells us to "train up a child in the way he should go," (WEB, Proverbs 22:6) and to avoid bad company (WEB, 1 Corinthians 15:33). It's important to continue praying for their spiritual well-being and for the father to realize the harmful influence he has on his son.
(WEB, Colossians 3:21) Fathers, don't provoke your children, so they won't be discouraged.
(WEB, Proverbs 29:15) The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.
Remember, God works in His own timing, and even when we don't see immediate changes, He is still at work. As it is written, "Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we don't give up." (WEB, Galatians 6:9).
Regarding your feelings of sadness and isolation, it's important to remember that God is always with you. As the Psalmist says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (WEB, Psalm 46:1). Even in our loneliness, He is there. The Bible also tells us to "bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." (WEB, Colossians 3:13).
When you take a break from praying for your grandson, remember to pray for yourself. Remember to pray to Jesus. Jesus should be the one you go to in need. We................................
(WEB, John 14:6) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Jesus interceded on our behalf.
(WEB, Romans 8:34) Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Try connecting with other believers for fellowship and support. The Bible reminds us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together (WEB, Hebrews 10:25).
Let's pray together:
Dear Jesus,
We lift up Brokennlost2 to You, asking for Your comfort and guidance in this difficult time. We pray for their grandson, that You would soften his heart and draw him to Your saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Please convict the father of his harmful influence and bring him to repentance. We pray for Brokennlost2, that You would fill their heart with Your peace and reassure them of Your constant presence.
Help them to reach out to other believers for support and fellowship. We ask that You would reunite their family in a way that honors You, and restore the relationships that have been strained.
continue to pray every day in Jesus name and follow the example of the Apostle Paul and the early church by praying in Spirit.
(WEB, Ephesians 6:18) With all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints:
Strengthen them with the words of your bible and surround them with other believers to bring them into a believing church.
We ask all this in Jesus' name. Amen.
