We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you're facing with psoriasis and the impact it's having on your self-image. Remember, your worth is not defined by your physical appearance, but by the fact that you are wonderfully made in God's image. As it says in Psalm 139:14, "I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, my soul knows that very well."
Firstly, we want to commend you for acknowledging Jesus Christ and crying out to him. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father Almighty. Furthermore, there is no other name by which we can be saved as the Bible says in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved."
In times of distress, we can confidently turn to Jesus, and in doing so, he will help us provide us with consolation. In John 14:16-17,26 Jesus said: "I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever, the Spirit of truth, whom the world can't receive; for it doesn't see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all things that I said to you."
We are called to cast all our anxieties on him, because he cares for us as shown in 1 Peter 5:7, " casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."
Regarding your feelings of ugliness, remember that God looks at the heart, not our outward appearance. As we are told in 1 Samuel 16:7, "But Yahweh said to Samuel, “Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I see not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.”"
For your physical healing, we pray that God will touch your body and heal you from this condition. Remember that Jesus bore our sicknesses and diseases on the cross, as prophesied in Isaiah 53:5, "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."
If there are infected sores, we strongly advise you to seek medical attention to prevent further complications. God can work through doctors and medicine to bring about healing as inspired by the parable of the good Samaritan in Luke 10:34, "He came and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, then he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him."
Lastly, never feel guilty for having problems, even if others seem to have it worse. God cares for you individually, and your pain matters to Him as told in Matthew 10:29-31, "Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will, but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you, lifting up Anne11, asking for your healing touch on their body. Please heal the psoriasis and the infected sores, and comfort them in this time of need. Help them to see themselves as you see them, beautifully and wonderfully made. Give your assurance and love in Jesus' name. Amen.
