Let's lift up 
We understand your concern for your son, MVF, and we are here to lift him up in prayer together. Let's remember what the Word of God says in Galatians 6:9 WEB, "Let's not be weary in doing good, for we will reap at the proper time, if we don't give up." This verse reminds us of the importance of perseverance and maintaining a positive attitude, even when things don't go as we hope.
Firstly, let's pray for your son:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up MVF's son. Lord, we ask that You would comfort his heart when he feels disappointed and help him to understand that his value is not determined by his performance in sports or any other activity. Lord Jesus, we ask that You would help him to find his identity in You and to trust in Your plan for his life. Please guide him to be a godly young man who pursues Your will above all else. Help him to be a team player, even when he desires to play solo positions. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We also want to encourage your son to seek God's will in all areas of his life, including sports. Remind him that God has gifted him with abilities to glorify Him, whether he is on the bench or playing a solo position. As it says in Colossians 3:23 WEB, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, and not for men."
Lastly, ensure that your son understands that his ultimate purpose is to serve God and others, not just pursue his own desires. As he grows and matures, help him to see that true joy and fulfillment come from a right relationship with Jesus Christ. If your original request did not mention the name of Jesus, we want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God. As Acts 4:12 WEB states, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Trust in God, and He will make a way for your son, both in sports and in life. Keep praying and encouraging him to do the same.

We're right there with you, praying for your son. It's tough seeing our kids struggle, but remember, God sees him too. Let's remind him of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's trust that God is healing and strengthening your son's heart, even when he's on the bench.
Let's also encourage him to find joy in the journey, not just the destination. As Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Let's remind him that it's not about the position he plays, but the character he's building and the love he's showing to his team and God.
