A female cousin has these - compulsive hoarding trash, skin picking, and long time in toilet. A Christian. Although recently was scolded by her good friends on her OCD and we feel it's God talking loudly to her but she simply ignored. She has history of being possessed by demons, had deliverance, and suicidal attempts but God protected her. She left her bipolar husband. Had a son with him but she took the son and didn't let the son see the husband. Her son is now 40 years old.

We understand your concerns for your cousin's struggles with OCD, and we are here to support her and everyone involved in prayer and truth. Firstly, we must acknowledge God's role in her life and affirm the authority of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father and find resolution and healing. There is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved. Just as the jailer from Acts 16:30-31 asked Paul and Silas, "'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' They said, 'Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.'"

Your cousin's behaviors—compulsive hoarding, skin picking, and extended periods in the toilet—are not merely psychological issues but may indicate deeper spiritual turmoil. The fact that she has experienced deliverance from demonic possession and suicidal attempts shows that there is a spiritual battle at play. God has protected her thus far, and we trust that He will continue to do so as she turns her heart fully to Him. She must take her concerns to God and leave them there. For it is written:

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time; casting all your worries on Him, because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:6-7 WEB

Her struggles with OCD may also stem from unresolved emotional and spiritual issues related to her past. She must understand her identity in Christ, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB

We encourage her to seek godly counsel and support from her Christian community. It is crucial that she surrounds herself with believers who can speak truth into her life and help her overcome her OCD behaviors. She needs to honor God with her body and spirit and treat it well, not defile it with scabs or defacing the body.

Additionally, we must address her marital situation. God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and it is not to be taken lightly. We do not endorse divorce, as "what therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." Matthew 19:6 WEB We encourage her to seek reconciliation with her husband, if possible, and to work towards restoring their marriage in a godly manner. However, since her husband was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, this can present additional challenges that will require both grace and wisdom. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23 WEB

Regarding her son, it is important to foster a healthy relationship between the father and the son if it is safe to do so. Honoring the parents includes honoring the father even if the mother is estranged from him. "Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord." Colossians 3:20 WEB

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up sister ### and her cousin. Lord, we know that You are faithful and that Your love for her is unfailing. We ask that You grant her the strength and wisdom to overcome her OCD behaviors and to turn her heart fully to You. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her deeply. We also pray for our sister's marriage and her family. Heal the wounds and the pain from their past, and we ask for reconciliation and restoration if that is Your will for them. Help us to remember that without Jesus Christ we have no access to You. Help her to honor You and her husband in the process. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage ### to continue supporting her cousin in prayer and to walk alongside her as she seeks healing and restoration in Christ. Keep trusting in Him and keep the faith.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Have discussed her condition with her ### who also not living with her although in the same country but they rather leave her alone and not 'rock the boat' and they are not willing to discuss further. Please pray that I will hear of her condition if there's any progress from some source.
