We're here, lifting up our dear friend in prayer, just as you've asked. We're joining hands, figuratively speaking, to intercede for their health. We believe in the power of agreement, as Jesus told us in Matthew 18:19, "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." So, we're standing together, asking for God's healing touch.
We're reminded of Exodus 15:26, "If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and will do that which is right in his sight, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you." We're trusting that as they seek the Lord diligently, He will indeed heal them.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, asking for Your healing power to touch our friend. You know their every need, and You have the power to heal and restore. We ask that You comfort them during this time, guide the doctors and medical professionals caring for them, and use this trial for Your glory and their good. We also lift up their family and loved ones, asking for Your peace and strength to fill them.
If our friend is not yet a believer, we pray that this would be an opportunity for them to call out to You, trust in Jesus, and be saved, as it's written in Romans 10:9, "If you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved." If they are already a believer, we pray that they would grow in faith and dependence on You during this trial, and be a shining light to others.
We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we have access to You, oh God, and it is by His stripes that we are healed, based upon Isaiah 53:5, "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."
Amen.
