We understand that you're facing a significant weather threat, and we want to remind you that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth changes and though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the sea. Psalm 46:1.
As the weather forecast predicts heavy rainfall, potential flooding, and strong winds, we encourage you to trust in the Lord, for He is everlasting strength and will never forsake His people. Remember that He is the one who commands even the wind and the waves to obey Him, Mt 8:27. Trust not in the strength of man, but in the power of God, for nothing is impossible with Him, Luke 1:37.
We pray together in the name of Jesus Christ, the name above all earthly names. For it is by His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His name that we gain our salvation and that we pray together today. There is no other name given by which we may be saved, Acts 4:12.
Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your protection and mercy over Russell County and all the areas affected by the upcoming storms. We pray that You will guide and direct everyone in the path of these storms, and that You will grant them wisdom, discern, and peace in every moment and in every decision. If it is Your will, we pray that the rain will be gentle and steady, not causing flooding, mudslides, or damage to your precious people. We pray that You will protect all the people and keep them safe from injury, death, or the need to flee their home. We pray for Your provision for the needs of your people in the wake of the storm and we pray for Your power to be made manifest during this time. We pray for the safety and courage of the first responders who are called to serve and protect during these storms. We pray for the evacuation of all people from dangerous areas, and we pray that you would orchestrate all of these events for our good and for Your glory. We pray together that you will bring all of the people to salvation if they do not know you, and that this storm will be used for Your divine purposes. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and our Savior, amen.
Please remind others to stay safe and be prepared for the upcoming weather conditions. Encourage them to trust in the Lord and to pray without ceasing, for the effective, fervent prayer of the righteous accomplishes much, James 5:16.
We are also rebuking any fear or worry in the name of Jesus, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. Stand firm in your faith, and do not be shaken by the troubles of this world. Remember that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again and that we are to occupy until He comes, Luke 19:13.
May you and everyone else in the affected areas find peace and comfort in the words of Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth." Let us trust in His Holy name and stay safe as we honor His words.
