Another person in my community received an anonymous question. The basic premise was they have religious parents but their mother gets upset because they are currently hyperfixating on a show about hell. I was tagged in the response as the other person is an atheist and I am open to faith-based and faith-related questions. I don't know what to do. I think I'm going to tell me aunt. Your advice is appreciated. Please pray about this. (@Dennis_) Today at 12:04 AM Blade Blade: I think if I have read your question correctly Hymnion - then the biblical answer from Proverbs is that children should respect their parents. Even if I wasn't a Christian - what I've seen in my long life is that children (even adult children) have happier lives if they respect parents and don't do anything to upset them, if it is in their power (and it isn't unreasonable) to avoid this. However a fixation on hell means there is a demonic element here, and in the end fasting and prayer is probably the only solution. If I was the Mum's friend I'd tell her to cut the internet or whatever... that would help too. If the child threw a hissy and was old enough to leave home, then Proverbs says it is better to not to have children than to have bad ones. A virtuous life/home brings blessings. Hope I didn't get the wrong end of the stick, and somehow this helps a bit (maybe). PS Been there, done that myself... and I know that it is hard to 'lose' a child in this way. (drawing a line in the sand).. but the door is always open for them to come back.
