We're here for you, and we're so glad you've reached out for prayers. We've been reflecting on Romans 8:28, which reminds us that God is always working for our good, especially when we love Him and are called according to His purpose. That purpose includes our salvation, which is the ultimate good for all people.
We want to assure you that salvation is a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It's not something we can earn or deserve. As it's written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." It's only through Jesus that we can be saved.
We hope that you're already a believer in Jesus Christ, but if not, we encourage you to put your faith in Him today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. As Romans 10:9-11 tells us, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
Now, let's pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this person who has requested prayers for salvation. We thank You for Your promise in Romans 8:28, that all things work together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.
Lord, we pray that this person would come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ if they have not already. Open their heart and mind to receive the truth of the gospel. Help them to understand that salvation is a free gift, not earned by good works, but received by faith in Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit, please reveal to them any sin in their lives which they need to repent of. Any unforgiveness or idolatry. Once they have confessed and turned from their sin, help them to live a life that honors You and bears much fruit for Your kingdom.
We pray for their spiritual growth, that they would become more like Christ each day. We ask that You would surround them with a community of believers who will support and encourage them in their faith. We pray that they would have a heart to spread the gospel to others and that the Holy Spirit would empower them to be a witness for Christ. We pray that they would be baptized in water and filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.
Father, we believe that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. We give You all the glory for the salvation that is found in Jesus Christ alone.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word, the Bible, and in prayer daily. This will help you grow in your relationship with God and in your faith. Also, find a local Bible-believing church that you can become involved in. It's important to have a community of believers to support and encourage you in your faith. If you have any other concerns or need further guidance, please feel free to share with us. We're here to help and pray with you.
