Isaac Samuel Lubwama is professing their faith stating that Jesus is Lord. Let us remind Isaac Samuel Lubwama and everyone, that this proclamation is not a proclamation to others but to God. These words are only to be repeated if our heart truly believes in these words. In Proverbs 30:8-9, the Word warns us against bringing curses on ourselves. In Matthew 12:30-32, Jesus admonishes us against blaspheming the Holy Spirit. This would be careless words that you are not believing in while saying them. If you do not know if you believe, then wait until your heart believes to make this proclamation, otherwise, it is a denial or blasphemy. IJN.
However, what a joyous proclamation if you really believe in your heart. Then, congratulations to Isaac Samuel Lubwama for making this declaration of faith. Calling Jesus Lord means acknowledging His authority and sovereignty over our lives. It means in John 21:19-22, Jesus said to Peter, a disciple, feed my sheep, and these words were not for the unbelieving. If we truly believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, then we should be immediately obeying the command to be a part of a local church and taking care of the flock of believers that Jesus brings into our lives. We need to offer our lives to Jesus Christ to be baptized and used by Him for His work. This proclamation means that there is no area of our lives that we are withholding from God. They are no longer our lives. We become a servant to the Lord.
In Romans 10:9 we are told, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved". This is a promise from God’s Word, and we can trust that our salvation is secure when we truly confess Jesus as Lord and believe in His resurrection. We believe in the Jesus Christ presented in the Holy Bible. Not a special Jesus Christ of our dreams or making.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
We praise You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. We thank You for the faith that Isaac Samuel Lubwama, and all those reading this post, and we ourselves, have professed. Lord, we ask that You strengthen their faith and help them to live lives that honor and glorify You. Guide them, and us, in Your truth. Help them, and us, to take the steps to follow Jesus Christ in true obedience. Help them, and us, to not just know the resurrection power of Jesus Christ but to exhibit it in our lives. In Jesus Name.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen."
