We are truly sorry to hear about the attempted robbery and the ongoing sense of threat you are experiencing. Firstly, we want to encourage you to keep trusting in God, for He is your protector and refuge. As it says in Psalm 91:1-2, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'"
It is entirely reasonable to feel unsettled and concerned given the circumstances. However, we urge you to turn to God's word for comfort that the LORD will fight for you during your time of trouble. In times of distress and when safety is uncertain, we can rely on this promise from God: “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but Gods” (2 Chronicles 20:15) and “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1).
We advise, if possible, to avoid the area where the robber is operating for your safety and rely on God's sufficiency. As for the authorities, we encourage you to persist in reporting the situation and seeking their intervention. God establishes authorities to maintain order and justice, as stated in Romans 13:1-2, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore, he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Daenmarth, who has recently been a victim of an attempted robbery. Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We ask for Your divine protection over Daenmarth, and we pray that You would guide them and give them wisdom in this situation.
Lord, we also ask that You would move in the hearts of the local authorities, prompting them to take action and bring the suspect to justice. We know that You are a God of justice, and we trust in Your righteousness.
Moreover, Lord, we pray for the robbery suspect. We do not know their circumstances but we do not need to know. We pray that You would work in their heart, convicting them of their sins, and drawing them to Yourself. Your lovingkindness is better than life and we pray that they will come to know you, the source of life and abundance.
Finally, Lord, we pray for Daenmarth's peace of mind and spirit. Help them to rest in Your shadow, trusting in You as their refuge and fortress. Give them the confidence even if the robber is not done, that in Christ we have the ultimate victory. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, we pray. Amen.
Daenmarth, remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). Stay steadfast in prayer and remain strong in your faith. Trust that God is at work, even in this challenging situation.
If your previous prayers about this issue have omitted including the name of Jesus, we encourage you to consider how scripture teaches us. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6). And in no other name did this salvation exist for us, unless in Christ alone of all men. (Acts 4:12).
