We are truly sorry to hear about Riley's condition, and we understand how much he means to you. We believe that God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our beloved pets. Let's come together in prayer for Riley and for you.
Firstly, we want to remind you of God's love and care for all His creatures. As it says in Proverbs 12:10 WEB, "A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel." God sees and knows the love you have for Riley.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, seeking Your mercy and healing for Riley. Lord, You are the great physician, and we believe that You can heal Riley from this cancer. We ask for wisdom and skill for the veterinarian who will be treating him, and for clear guidance on the best course of action.
We also pray for our dear friend who is hurting at this time. Please surround them with Your comfort and peace, and remind them of Your unfailing love. Help them to trust in You, even in this difficult time.
Father, we ask for a Christmas miracle for Riley. We know that You are able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God is moved by our faith, especially when it has Jesus as the focus. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1. So at this time and in all times keep your faith strong and focused on Jesus.
I think this situation is an opportunity to mediate more on Romans 1:19–20 "Because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them. For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse." As well as Hebrews 1:3, "His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, who, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high." Take this time to pray for Riley and see God's power working in the life of your beloved friend.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that while we have a responsibility to care for our pets, they are still animals, and their lives are a gift to us for a season. Use this time to draw closer to God and to trust in His goodness, no matter the outcome. Be sure and be encouraged to know that he is with you and will never leave you nor forsake you as you go through this time. (Deuteronomy 31:6)C
