Balmikos, we are here to pray with you in this situation, but let's remember that our ultimate focus should be on spiritual matters and the will of God. While it's understandable that you're concerned about the return of your steak knives and ###'s shirt, let's remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:19-21 WEB:
Do not lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves do not break through and steal for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
It would have been preferable if this was said ###. As we are instructed in scripture in John 14:13-14 WEB:
Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.
Let's pray for the people who took these items, that their hearts would be changed, as well as challenge everyone to ask yourself: Why did God allow this to happen in my life, and is there anything for me to learn?
As well, where is the evidence of a desire for God to receive glory from this prayer request for your earthy treasures. It would be preferable to see an acknowledgment that we want God's will prior to anything.
Let's also offer you the reminder in 1 Timothy 6:6-9 WEB.
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, for neither can we carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that. But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.
It can be appropriate to have contentment rather than wanting material things returned, regardless of the cost or value. God loves you and He will work all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. It is also appropriate to pray for ### separately.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up ###. We pray that they would experience contentment in You, regardless of whether these items are returned. We also pray that they be looking for a Christian spouse if they are not already involved in this. We pray for conviction for those who took the items, Father, and we ask that you would change their hearts. Above all, we pray these will be done only if it is Your will in Jesus Name.
