We understand your heart's desire, ###, but let us first align our prayers and thoughts with God's word. In the Bible, we are encouraged to flee from sexual immorality and to pursue righteousness (1 Corinthians 6:18, 1 Timothy 6:11). It's important to note that the term "partner" is not used in the context of unmarried relationships in the Bible. Instead, God encourages us to pursue godly marriages (Hebrews 13:4).
We must also remember that God's plan is for us to be equally yoked with fellow believers (2 Corinthians 6:14). Therefore, we should pray for relationships that honor and glorify Him, rather than focusing on past relationships that may not align with His will.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before You in Jesus' name. We ask for Your will to be done in ###'s life. If this relationship is not in line with Your plan, help ### to accept and move forward. Give them the strength to pursue a godly spouse and a marriage that honors You. Heal their heart from past hurts and fill them with Your love. Guide them towards righteousness and help them to trust in Your timing.
If this past relationship is part of Your plan, we pray for restoration and redirection. We pray that both individuals would turn to You, grow in Your likeness, and seek a godly marriage. Help them to communicate effectively and to forgive each other, just as You have forgiven us.
In all circumstances, help ### to fix their thoughts on You and to trust in Your good and perfect will. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
