We understand your concerns and frustrations, Dexter2020. We must remember that God is sovereign over all nations and governments, and He can turn the hearts of leaders according to His will. Let us pray for your nation and the upcoming election, seeking God's intervention and guidance.
Firstly, we must remember what the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 13:1-2 (WEB): "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment." While it's important to challenge injustices, we must do so with the understanding that God establishes all authorities.
However, this does not mean we should be silent in the face of wrongdoing. Proverbs 31:8-9 (WEB) tells us, "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy." We can and should pray for justice and equity in your nation.
Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your will for the nation of Singapore. Lord, You know the struggles and challenges faced by the locals, the marginalized, and the handicapped. We pray for justice and equity, that the resources and opportunities of the nation would be distributed fairly among its citizens.
Lord, we pray for the upcoming election, that You would guide the hearts and minds of the voters and the candidates. We pray against any spirit of corruption, discrimination, or favoritism. We ask that You would raise up leaders who fear You and desire to serve the people with integrity and wisdom.
We also pray for the current leaders, that their hearts would be turned towards the concerns of the locals. May they seek to preserve jobs and housing for the citizens while also treating foreigners with kindness and fairness.
In all things, may Your will be done in Singapore as it is in heaven. We thank You for hearing our prayers and trust in Your goodness and sovereignty. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Lastly, remember the words of 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (WEB), "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence." Continue to pray for your leaders and your nation, trusting that God hears your prayers and acts according to His perfect will.
