For righteousness sake, we must first go back, before going forward: not to dwell again as before in wrongdoing; but, to right the wrongs of the past, to restore those whom we wronged, whether individual or even nation. Jesus did it on our behalf, when we couldn't do it for ourselves; therefore in being Christ like, so also must we do unto others. This is instructional both in the old and new testaments:
Ezekiel 33: 15 "If the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has stolen, and walks in the statutes of life without committing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die."
Matthew 5: 23-24 "So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God."
Because God's ways are not like our ways, in order to progress, as He defines "progression," receiving forgiveness, salvation, and life everlasting, we must submit ourselves to His ways.
All glory and honor be unto God. In Jesus name. Amen.
