We are truly sorry to hear about the emotional pain you are experiencing, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide biblical guidance. Firstly, it's important to remember that God has a plan and purpose for your life, and He wants to give you a future and a hope.
In times of distress, we should call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. But, your request did not name Him. It is only in Jesus Christ that we have access to God:
Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Jesus said in John 14:6 (WEB), "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
We need to place our faith in Jesus Christ and through our confession of sins, be justified by the mercy of God. Our hope is in Him.
As for your situation with your close friend, it's crucial to understand that God's design for romantic relationships is between a man and a woman with the goal for marriage and that this is only to be sexually intimate within marriage. In the Bible, God clearly outlines the principles for relationships and marriage.
Though it is painful and heart breaking, it is still important to fulfill the call of the Bible for all Believers. We must rejoice with the rejoicing and mourn with those that mourn:
Romans 12:15 (WEB), "Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep."
Your prayer is focused on wanting to be together with your friend. It is unclear if this is a romantic relationship and if it is godly doing so with acknowledgement or a desire for marriage. This is not God's plan for you if outside of marriage. God has a specific plan for you and we should always hope in Him.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB) reads: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."
It is important to surrender your desires to the Lord and trust that He has the best plan for your life. God may be using this situation to draw you closer to Him and to prepare you for the future, including other future relationships if He wills it.
Let's pray together, dear friend:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in their time of need. Lord, we pray for comfort and strength as they go through this difficult time. Help them to trust in You and Your plan for their life. Guide their steps and bring peace and hope to their heart recovering from heart break. Help your Believer to be comforted in hope. Remove all despair and bring comfort now. Whatever is contrary to Your will, we rebuke. Lord, have your will done in this person’s life. Father, help your child to choose the narrow way. In Christ Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Be comforted that God has a plan for your life. Knowing that, you can look up and not down.
