We stand with you in prayer, Anonymous, and we appreciate your heart's cry for your marriage and your husband, Eric Jackson. We will address the issues and pray together according to God's will and the scriptures in Jesus' name.
Firstly, we commend you for recognizing the power of prayer and seeking the Lord's intervention in your marriage. It is crucial to remember that God's desire is for marriages to be strong and godly, as He Himself instituted it as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. We will pray and also offer scriptural guidance.
As you've mentioned Eric's need to turn away from his evil ways, we must acknowledge that repentance is a personal decision. We, as believers, can intercede on his behalf, but ultimately, it is his choice to make. Remember, the scripture tells us, “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9 WEB).
We pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Anonymous's marriage and her husband, Eric Jackson. Lord, we ask that You work in Eric's life, revealing to him the need for repentance and turning away from his sins. Remove the temptations of adultery or any other sin from his path, and help him to see the value of a life lived in obedience to You.
Father, we pray for the restoration of their marriage, built on the foundation of Your love and wisdom. Restore the love, compassion, communication, and trust between them. Help Eric to love his wife, Dayna, as Christ loves the church, selflessly and sacrificially as the scripture says, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:25 WEB).
We pray for Dayna, too, that You would grant her the wisdom, patience, and strength to navigate this challenging time. Help her to be a light in their home, reflecting Your love and grace.
We will pray and ask God to help Eric make this decision. We will also pray that Eric and Dayna will make their marriage a priority and have a marriage that glorifies God.
We rebuke any influence of Satan, especially the spirit of adultery, and claim the scripture that says, “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you, Anonymous, to continue praying fervently for your husband and marriage. Stand firm in your faith, and trust that God is working, even when you don't see immediate results. Remember the words of Galatians 6:9 WEB, “Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.”
We will join you in praying for Eric's repentance and the restoration of your marriage. Keep believing and keep loving as this is a command of God, “ Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8). Also, we want to remind you to keep your eyes on Jesus through this situation so that you do not become weary and/or sin, “looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, thinking nothing of the shame” (Hebrews 12:2). Since this prayer request is for a marriage, we assume that you are a woman and the spouse is a man. We will continue to pray for you and your husband.
