We are deeply saddened to hear about the difficulties you are facing in your marriage, Anonymous. We stand with you in prayer and truth, seeking God's will for your life.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the power of forgiveness and reconciliation. Jesus taught us, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB). We pray that God will give you the strength to forgive, even as you struggle with the pain of betrayal.
However, we want to be clear that adultery is a grave sin. In the Ten Commandments, God commands, "You shall not commit adultery." (Exodus 20:14 WEB). We must not turn a blind eye to this sin, but instead, confront it with love and truth. We pray that your husband will repent and turn away from his sin. As the Scripture says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 WEB).
We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel and support during this time. It is wise to have a community of believers around you who can pray with you, encourage you, and offer biblical guidance. Remember the words of Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (WEB), "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn't have another to lift him up."
Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister who is hurting and broken. Lord, we ask that you comfort her and give her the strength to forgive. We pray that you will convict her husband of his sin and draw him to repentance. Lord, we ask that you guide them both with your wisdom and truth. If it is your will, we pray for restoration in this marriage, that it may bring glory to your name. But above all, Lord, we ask that your perfect will be done in their lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can approach God. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
