We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage. We will stand with you in prayer and trust God to work in your situation. Remember, God's will is for marriages to be a lifelong commitment, reflecting the union between Christ and His church Ephesians 5:25-33 WEB.
Firstly, we commend you for forgiving your wife, just as Ephesians 4:32 WEB tells us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." This is a powerful step in reconciliation.
However, we want to remind you that it's essential to take responsibility for your own actions, and not shift blame onto others. While it's true that external influences can cause harm, it's crucial to focus on the things you can control - your own actions and attitudes. Remember what the scripture says in Matthew 7:3-5 WEB, "Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but don't consider the beam that is in your own eye? ... You hypocrite! First, remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye."
We also encourage you to pray for your wife, not just for her to remember the good things, but also for her healing, her spiritual growth, and her wisdom. Pray that God will guide both of you, giving you the strength to love and support each other as He intended. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB reminds of true love, “Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
Let's pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this marriage to You. We ask for Your healing, restoration, and guidance. Help both of them to remember the good times, to forgive each other, and to love each other as You intended. We pray they would both be presented by the holy spirit to be blameless before you in love. Expose and remove any external influences that are causing harm, and help them to focus on You and Your will for their marriage. Give them the strength, wisdom, and patience they need to endure and overcome these challenges. Lord, touch the wife's heart and mind, help her to see the support and love that was always there, ready to be embraced. Guide them both to be in Your will, to be a wonderful thing again. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
