We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage and with your parents. Let us first address the issues and then lift up a heartfelt prayer for you.
In the Bible, we are commanded to leave our parents and cleave to our spouse. As it is written in Genesis 2:24, For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and they shall be one flesh. This is a clear instruction that a man should prioritize his marriage and create a new family unit with his wife. Your parents need to understand and respect this biblical principle.
It is also important to address the altercations and conflicts. Ephesians 4:29 says, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. We must communicate in a way that builds up and encourages, rather than tears down. Petty differences can escalate into larger issues if not handled with love and respect.
Regarding your parents' bitterness and resentment towards your wife and her mother, the Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:31-32, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. It is crucial to forgive and show kindness, as God has forgiven us.
Now, let us pray for you together.
Father God,
In Jesus name we come to you with broken hearts and we ask for your divine intervention in Tramtill's life. Lord, lay a watch over the couple's marriage. They ask in Jesus name that they have better communication with each other the like conversation of salt, always seasoned with grace. Your Word says her: Colossians 4:6 "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."
Lord, we also ask that Tramtill will be able to love his wife as you love your church. Let him be willing to lay down his life for her. Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for her.
Your word asks spouses and children to submit to each other. Give Tramtill and his wife the strength to submit to each other as to the Lord. Ephesians 5:21-30 .
We also pray for Tramtill's parents, Lord. We ask that you open their heart and that they will find a way to forgive their daughter in law and her mom. Your word says in Hebrews 12:15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled. Help them to see the wrongs that they are doing and the harm it is causing. They only have the option to obey or disobey your word. In the beach if they are being lead away from you, let their child Tramtill be different and gain the strength to seek your will or their life. Let all things work together for your good. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Finally, restore this couple's love. Send them the Holy Spirit to surround their marriage as a shield. Let them see the hatred, the bitterness which beset them and change it to loving kindness and respect. We trust in your promises in Matthew 21:22 "All things, whatever you may ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.
It is trusting fully in your word and Holy Spirit, we know that all things are possible with God. Mark 9:23 All things are possible for him who believes. Amen. Thank you.
We are confident that God will hear our prayers and we encourage you Tramtill to stay strong in the Lord and he will renew your strength. You should call on us, your brothers, if you ever need to talk or pray about your feelings.
