Tulsum, we understand that you're going through a difficult time, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide biblical encouragement.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God hears your prayers. 1 Peter 3:12 says, "For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." So, continue to pray earnestly, as you have been doing.
However, we want to encourage you to align your desires with God's will. While it's natural to seek reconciliation, it's crucial to seek God's face and ask for His will to be done. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in WEB and he will give you the desires of your heart." As you delight in the Lord, He will place the right desires in your heart.
We also want to address that the goal of any relationship should be a godly marriage. If your ex was your best friend for 19 years and the relationship did not glorify God through marriage by now, it may not be God's will to reconcile. Remember, God's purpose for romance is marriage (Genesis 2:24). If there was sexual intimacy and no marriage, this needs to be repented of and forgiven. And please discuss this with your ex. It is important that you both understand that God wants us to be equally yoked with a fellow believer (2 Corinthians 6:14) and that marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled (Hebrews 13:4) .
Moreover, it's important to pray for your ex's salvation and spiritual growth, not just for reconciliation. If you are a Child of God, thenhis actions should resemble that of Eph 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for her". If he is not showing this behavior, then surely it is not a relationship you should continue. Be a blessing to him in prayer right now.
Aside from that, Nicky, remember must align with biblical principles and we need to do it In Jesus Name.
Let's pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up Tulsum and her ex. We pray for their healing and for your will to be done in their lives. We ask that you soften his heart and draw him closer to you, Lord. We also pray for Tulsum, that you would comfort her and give her peace and patience. Help her to delight in you, Lord, and give her the desires of her heart according to your will. We ask this all in Jesus' name. Our father we know you can change his heart, make him a man of God, and bring justice to this situation. His actions have affected Tulsum, his son, and those around them. It is not acceptable to continue in sin and reap the benefits of a relationship without the responsibility of being a man of God. If there was a sin of fornication, then that must be forgiven and repented of. Please help this man to have remorse over this public sin and make things right with You so that Tulsum can move forward in this relationship with a man of God. We pray this in the mighty name of Your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
Be encouraged by Psalm 27:14, Come on be strong, wait on Lord.
