We are truly saddened to hear that your marriage is in need of restoration, and we are here to pray and provide biblical guidance with you. Firstly, we must remind you that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate." Mark 10:9 WEB
We must also address that there is no mention of Jesus Christ or His Name. We must remember that "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB and "in fact the lawgiver who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? Therefore in the way you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you measure, it will be measured to you." James 4:12 WEB.
In times of marital strife, we should first examine ourselves and be reminded by the Words in Matthew. "Or how will you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye;' and behold, the beam is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." Matthew 7:4 WEB.
Now, let us pray together for your marriage.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this marriage that is in desperate need of restoration. We know, Lord, that You desire husbands and wives to be united, to be one flesh, and to reflect the love that Christ has for His church. We remind ourselves that "the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body." Ephesians 5:23 WEB
Father God, You said in Your Word that You hate divorce and You are grieved when marriages fall apart. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation, that You would heal the hurts, mend the brokenness, and restore the love that once united this couple. We pray that You help them forgive each other and love one another as Christ did. We know that with You, all things are possible, and no situation is beyond Your power to redeem.
We pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit, that You would give them wisdom and discernment as they navigate this difficult time. Help them to seek You first, to trust in Your faithfulness, and to be obedient to Your will for their lives. Let them be reminded that by "the Lord must every knee bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those in hell. And every tongue must confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:10 WEB
We also pray that You would surround them with a community of believers who can support them, encourage them, and hold them accountable as they work towards reconciliation. We ask that You would give them strength and courage, that they would not give up on their marriage, but fight for it with every fiber of their being.
We pray this all in the mighty and precious name of our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lastly, please take a moment to meditate on these words, "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33 WEB.
