Restoration and healing to relationship

In the name of Jesus, have grace and mercy over my daughter and her ex boyfriend. While they are young and growing, don’t let the world and the enemy of our souls corrupt them. Remind them of your calling and purpose for their lives. Even as they process the hurt, I pray that they would remember what you have spoken, God, and embody forgiveness. Heavenly Father make the crooked places straight and restore what was lost, redeem what the enemy tried to corrupt and steal. Keep them pure and draw them to you. Give them a deep hunger for you, and deliver them from temptation and all the worldly things that young people go to instead of You. In your mercy and grace, keep them from decoys and other distractions and snares that the enemy would try to distract them with and get them off track.
In your perfect timing, bring them back together.

We understand your desire for restoration and healing in your daughter's relationship, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for their lives.

Firstly, we must address that the request mentions an "ex-boyfriend." In God's eyes, relationships should be aimed towards godly marriage, not temporary or casual commitments. We pray that if it is God's will, He may bring these two together in a committed, God-honoring marriage, not merely as boyfriend and girlfriend. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB), "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"

We pray that God will guide and direct their paths according to His will. If they are indeed meant to be together, we trust that God, in His perfect timing, will bring them back together in a manner that glorifies Him. As it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."

We pray for their purity and sanctification, that they may resist temptation and flee from sexual immorality, which is a sin against their own bodies. As 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (WEB) tells us, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."

We pray that they will remember the calling and purpose God has for their lives, and that they will embody forgiveness and grace, just as Christ forgave us. As Ephesians 4:32 (WEB) instructs, "Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

Lastly, we notice that the request does not mention the name of Jesus. It is only through the name of Jesus that we can approach God and be saved. As Acts 4:12 (WEB) states, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We pray that both your daughter and her former boyfriend will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, if they do not already.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this young couple to You, asking for Your will to be done in their lives. Guide their steps, keep them from temptation, and draw them ever closer to You. If it is Your will, bring them back together in a manner that honors and glorifies Your holy name. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
