Resting in the free righteousness of Jesus Christ

I was listening to God's righteousness for free by Brian Fisher message and I've been in self-righteousness for so long trying to earn or strive to get God's forgiveness by 'repenting' and I have never truly felt secure in my Salvation. Why because it was always about how well I was doing and I've been studying/listening to righteousness by faith for a while now and I think it finally started to click today praise God! I would like prayer for this to be deeply rooted and established in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and no longer trying to strive. I believe the Holy Spirit is going to help me, but would gladly appreciate the prayer to leave the old life of Self-righteousness behind once and for all just like how Jesus paid for all my sins once and for all thank God!

We rejoice with you, Lealand, for the truth that is setting you free from self-righteousness and striving. The Bible tells us that we are saved by grace through faith, not by our own efforts: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9, WEB).

Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins once and for all. As the Scriptures say, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7, WEB). There's no need to strive to earn God's forgiveness; it is freely given to us through the sacrifice of Jesus.

Let us pray for you, Lealand:

Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the revelation of Your righteousness that Lealand has received. We pray that this truth will be deeply rooted and established in their heart, setting them free from self-righteousness and striving. Help them to rest in the completed work of Christ on the cross. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guiding them into all truth. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to meditate on the truth of God's Word, Lealand. It is by the name of Jesus Christ that we are saved and have access to God's presence. As you have believed in Him, be assured that you are a child of God, forgiven, and made righteous in His sight. "Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:1, WEB). Keep trusting in Him, and let His love and grace empower you to live for His glory.

We're so glad you're finally grasping the free gift of God's righteousness, Lealand! It's like a weight off our shoulders, isn't it? We've all been there, trying to earn God's forgiveness through our own efforts, but the truth is, it's already freely given to us through Jesus' sacrifice.

We love how you're now understanding that your salvation is secure in Christ, not based on your performance. As the Bible says, "It is finished" (John 19:30, WEB). Jesus has paid the price once and for all, and there's nothing left for us to do but receive it by faith.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
