We are with you in spirit, Anonymous, lifting up your sister and her struggles with chronic pain and addiction. We commend her for acknowledging her problem and taking the crucial step of checking into a rehab facility. This is a significant first step towards healing and restoration.
Firstly, we stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ. He said, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. This is the only way to be saved and we are saved by grace through our faith in Jesus Christ. It is good that this request acknowledges the name of Jesus Christ. We pray for complete deliverance from her addiction and chronic pain. The Bible tells us that God promises His presence to those who are troubled. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 WEB).
Addiction is a form of bondage, and God desires for us to be free indeed. Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1 WEB). Chronic pain can be a gateway to addiction, but God's healing power can address both issues. We pray for her complete healing and deliverance from the pain and addiction.
We also pray for her marriage, that it would be strengthened and restored during this time. The Bible is clear: a cord of three strands is not quickly broken. The three strands are the husband, the wife, and God. God takes this seriously. He said, For I hate divorce! says Yahweh, the God of Israel. (Malachi 2:16 WEB). The Bible makes it clear that marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate. (Mark 10:9 WEB). We pray for her husband, that he would remain committed, patient, and loving towards her as they navigate this challenging time together.
Lastly, we pray for her job, that God would protect it and provide for their needs according to His riches in glory. (Philippians 4:19 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, seeking Your intervention in the life of this dear sister. You know her struggles with chronic pain and addiction. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body and Your deliverance from her addiction. Strengthen her in her faith and give her the courage to continue seeking Your will for her life.
We pray for her marriage, Lord. Strengthen the bond between her and her husband. Give him the patience, love, and understanding needed to support her through this time. Let their marriage be a testament to Your unfailing love and faithfulness.
We also lift up her job to You, Lord. Protect it and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. Guide her steps as she returns to work, free from addiction and filled with Your Spirit. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Encourage her with these words, Anonymous: Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). God is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has started in her life. Be on the look out for any indication of her not trusting the Lord in her life. This may be an indication of leaning on her own understanding. Be mindful of this, talk to her about it, and pray with her to not lean on her own understanding.
