Let us first thank you for bringing your request to us, and we appreciate that you acknowledge God the Father as well as the name of Jesus as you closed with 'In your name we trust'.
We understand that you are seeking clarity in your relationship and guidance for an upcoming conversation. Firstly, let us remind you that God's will is for your sanctification, meaning that you are set apart for Him (1 Thessalonians 4:3 WEB). It is crucial to ensure that your relationship aligns with biblical principles, and that you are yoked with a fellow believer in Christ.
Regarding your conversation, we encourage you to seek wisdom from above (James 1:5 WEB), which is pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy (James 3:17 WEB). Remember that a soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger (Proverbs 15:1 WEB).
As for the strength to overcome, be assured that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13 WEB). It is important to remain in the vine, which is Christ, for you are not strong enough on your own (John 15:4 WEB).
Now, let us address the issue of you being unclear on your 'partner'. We believe that the term 'partner' is often used loosely and may not align with biblical principles. If you are in a romantic relationship, we encourage you to consider it as a courtship with the intent of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ. If the other person is not a believer, then you should not be in a romantic relationship with them, 'Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?' (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). If marriage is not your intention or the other person's intention, then you should not be in that relationship.
We would also like to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other name under heaven, given among men, through which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not already, make sure to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, so that you may be saved (Romans 10:9 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today to lift up Scaeriurside, who is seeking clarity in their relationship and guidance for an upcoming conversation. We ask that you grant them the wisdom that comes from above, and that their words will be pleasing to you and bring forth good fruit.
Help them to remain in the vine, which is Christ, and to find their strength in Him. We pray that your will be done in their life, and that they will walk in your ways.
If their relationship is not aligned with your will, we pray that you will give them the courage to make the necessary changes. We ask that you will bring forth a godly spouse for them, if it is your will, and that their marriage will be a blessing and a testimony to your love and faithfulness.
We ask all of these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
