Christopher Espinoza SR May I please use this prayer in a story. Father almighty, Watch over my daughter and protect her – give her wisdom and prudence to steer clear of threatening or dangerous situations and people. Protect her from all harm. Deliver her from the devil's temptations and keep her from evil. Be her safeguard when I cannot be there for her.

We are glad that you are seeking to use this God-honoring prayer. Prayer and heartfelt conversation with God, the Heavenly Father, is an important and powerful activity in the life of a believer. You should always pray in the name of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said "Whatever you will ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in My name, I will do it." If you ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." John 14:13; 15:7; 1 John 5:14-15 (WEB).

"Whatever" does not mean literally anything as it has to be in His will, and a part of His will is found in 1 John 5:14. There are other things in scripture about what His will is and in order for prayers to be answered they need to align with His will. Praying in the name of Jesus is required and this makes praying to anyone else who is not a living person, a man or woman, inappropriate. It also makes clear the importance of praying to God through Jesus Christ.

May we add that it is important that children honor their parents. It is the only command with a promise. "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise: that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." Ephesians 6:1-3 (WEB).

A daughter or a son that honors their father and mother are more likely to stay clear of temptation and threatening situations. Having a believing father and mother is also beneficial. Statistics have shown that a child who has at least one parent who is believing and lives a godly life has a much greater chance of becoming a Christian Believer themselves.

We rejoice that you care about your daughter and pray that she receives godly wisdom and discernment. Here is a heartfelt prayer for your daughter:

Almighty Father in Heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ to ask for Your protection and guidance for the daughter of this father. We pray that you would give her the wisdom and prudence to steer clear of threatening or dangerous situations and people. Deliver her from the devil's temptations and keep her from evil. Be her safeguard when her father cannot be there for her.

Lord, we also pray for her relationship with her father, that it would be strong and godly, and that she would honor him as Your Word commands. We ask that You would raise up godly men and women in her life who can mentor her and help her grow in her faith.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
