Request: Our most important request at the moment is that Indonesian Christians soon realize and get much more involved in the great Bible translation needs that still exist in their country!
Details, if desired: With many more Christians in Indonesia now (maybe as many as 36 million!), there will not be the great amount of missionaries going there any more, but there are still great needs, but Indonesians by the thousands who are capable of meeting these needs! The biggest hindrance to the translation work by Indonesians is perhaps the idea that the people in these small tribes can "just learn Indonesian!" That is NOT happening, at least not very rapidly, and there is such a need in hundreds of language groups for literacy in the vernacular, and then at least some Bible translation in their mother tongue languages!
