Amen. Thank you for the prayers and thank you for the words of encouragement. Thank you Lord for the correction. Yes, we are working towards marriage.Gererone, we understand your desire to see your relationship with Stephen restored, but we need to address several things according to biblical principles.
Firstly, we notice that your prayer is addressed to "Heavenly Father," but it is essential to pray in Jesus' name. As Jesus said, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full" (John 16:23-24 WEB). It is through Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Secondly, we need to address the nature of your relationship. The Bible teaches that relationships between men and women should be focused on marriage, which is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4-6). If your relationship with Stephen is not focused on marriage, we encourage you to reconsider your goals. If you are courting with the intention of marriage, then we will gladly pray for God's will in your relationship.
Additionally, we must address the issue of the "love that used to burn between the two of us." While emotions and feelings are a part of relationships, the Bible teaches that true love is about commitment, sacrifice, and a decision to love as God loves us (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). We encourage you to focus on this kind of love, rather than merely rekindling past emotions.
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up Gererone and Stephen. Lord, if it is Your will for them to be together in marriage, we pray that You would guide their steps, help them to understand each other's needs, and respect each other. Help them to love each other as You love us, with a love that is patient, kind, and selfless, in Jesus name, Amen.
We encourage you both to seek God's will for your lives individually and as a couple, trusting that He has a plan and a purpose for each of you. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). He has a future for each Christian believer but we don't believe he has fornication planned for us.
Thank youI prayed for this in Jesus Name. Amen.
