Rental problems

I live in a post flood ravaged rental, plumbing needs fixing, we feel obliged to pay. Ruthless landlord exploits the housing crisis in Australia, we can't move, our jobs dictates our location. I know it's a big ask, we need a home where we won't be exploited & have anxiety about fixing at our cost. In Jesus name Amen

CassG, we hear your cry for help and understand the distress you're facing in your living situation. Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is through Him that we have access to God's throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16, WEB).

We want to remind you that God cares about every detail of our lives, including our housing needs. Jesus teaches us, "Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?'... for your heavenly Father knows that you need all of these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:31-33, WEB).

In your situation, it's important to know that God is your advocate and defender. Psalm 10:17-18 tells us, "You hear, WEB, the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear, to judge the orphan and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may terrify no more."

Let us pray together: "Father, we lift up CassG to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their housing situation. Provide them with a safe and affordable home, where they won't be exploited or live in anxiety. Give them wisdom to know how to deal with their current landlord, and guide them to a better living situation. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen."

We also encourage you to seek local support services or legal aid that can provide guidance and assistance regarding your rights as tenants. Trust that God is working on your behalf, and His promises are true. "Wait for WEB; be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for WEB." (Psalm 27:14, WEB).

We're praying for wisdom for you, that you'd know how to navigate this situation with your landlord and find a way out.
