Let us come together and lift up this concern regarding the renewal of the café lease and the significant increase in rent. Firstly, let us remember that our God is a faithful provider, and He cares about every detail of our lives. As it is written in Philippians 4:6, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."
However, we must also acknowledge that our trust should not be in the café or our own efforts, but in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is worrisome that the prayer request does not mention His name. Remember, it is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). So, let us first pray that you will put your faith and hope in Jesus Christ if you haven't already.
Now, regarding the café, let us pray for God's will to be done. It might be that God has other plans for your retirement, something even better than you could imagine (Ephesians 3:20). It is also possible that God wants to use this situation to strengthen your faith and dependence on Him.
Let us pray:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this concern about the café lease. Lord, You know the anxieties and fears that come with the potential increase in rent. We ask for Your divine intervention, that You would guide and provide for this situation according to Your will. Give wisdom and discernment to make the right decisions, and help to remember that our hope and security are in You alone. If this café is part of Your plan, we trust that You will make a way. If not, we ask that You reveal the path You have for us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Be encouraged by the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
Trust in the Lord, and remember that His plans are always good, always right, and always for your benefit (Jeremiah 29:11).
