We are truly glad that you have reached out with your prayer request, as it is never easy to admit and confront such struggles. Firstly, we want to assure you that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. As Romans 8:1 WEB states, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
However, we must also point that pornography in any form is immoral and dangerous, as well as masturbation almost always being accompanied with lust, which is also against God's plan for our lives. God's plan for our sexuality is designed to be within marriage with a Godly spouse and based on love and intimacy with God and other Christians rather than satisfaction of sexual lusts in the flesh. It is important to direclty confront lustful thoughts and actions.
"But I tell you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Mathew 5:28 WEB
Pornography objectifies people and can lead to a distorted view of sexuality and relationships. It can also be highly addictive and harmful causing severe negative feelings and outcomes of self worth. We encourage you to take decisive action to break free from this bondage as pornography and masturbation allows Satan to hurt us by making us feel guilty and distant from God and isolated from supportive Christian Brothers and Sisters. To obtain forgiveness and freedom from any addiction, turn to Jesus Christ and confess fully, openly, and specifically to Him.
While repentance will begin the process of internally healing, it is arguably more important to also confess to a mature Christian Brother and ask them to help you be accountable for what you are doing and watching or also thinking about. There are also Christian professionals who can be sought to help also identify problems, offer advice, and provide other support networks. Find these individuals and work with them and their advice and do not let pride or guilt get in the way of allowing Mathew 18:20 WEB to work in your life. "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.” It is not enough to just pray, confess and repent to God, we must also confess to our Christian brothers. If this is done half way or not fully, then we will not be able to be helped by God's Spirit.
Continue to "draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." James 4:8 WEB It is the double minded that are unstable and causes anxiety in all of our ways. Being only focused on God's plan for us is the way to find Peace. God wants to help you, but we must also be in His word daily, in fellowship with believers and be accountable and transparent to Christians for our actions.
"Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you. Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:7 WEB Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
Your anxiety and depression it is likely the result of Satan working to keep you in a prison. Please Repent! Do not turn back but fight this addiction. Remember that in Christ, you are a new creation 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
We pray for the renewal of your spirit and mind for forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking him he died for your sins and took your punishment and rose from the dead. We pray to cure any anxiety and depression but also know it is our responsibility to not continue in sin and we must confess our sins to God and fellow Christians. Dear Lord, give Anonymous your strength to overcome, be transparent, and fully recover from the hurt that has been caused by these sins of pornography and masturbation. In Jesus Name.
1 John 1:9 WEB says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Confess and find a Christian Brother and God's healing Spirit will come into your life like you never imagined.
2 Corinthians 10:5, "Throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ".
