Trogamfe, we understand your concern for your daughter and her relationships. We will bring this matter before Jesus Christ and pray as we are guided from the Word of the Lord. Let's first discuss as we are instructed in scripture your daughters behavior and having a boyfriend. However, we must acknowledge that it is important to address relationships according to biblical principles before praying for them.
The Bible teaches us to "Not give place to the devil." (Ephesians 4:27 WEB). That's why we must address how things that are not in alignment with scripture will affect our lives and possibly create places in our lives for evil to cause difficulty in our lives. This word could easily be translated to literally read "do not provide a place for the devil in our lives."
Let's also not forget the biblical instructions on what your daughters relationship should look like. According to biblical principles, the goal of the relationship between a man and a woman who are not married should be marriage to another Christian Believer. These individuals should be seeking a spouse to foster and grow in Christian community and marriage. They should seek only godly relationships. Sex before marriage should not be part of their relationship, to keep themselves pure and without sin against each other. It is called fornication, which is sin and will always eventually destroy their relationship. Also, scripture clearly forbids same sex marriage and any kind of homosexuality. We cannot recommend it, endorse it, pray for it, or affirm it in any way. As parents we should not be seeking a solution that approves of or fixes something contrary to biblical principles. We can still be compassionate and understanding to them without encouraging them to continue a relationship not honoring God.
It's not just our decision as Christians. God actually explicitly explains that we are to live differently, separated from the world, and should encourage everyone to live according to His commands for us. The Bible clearly states: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB) God has clearly stated how he views people with other beliefs and relationships that don't conform to his word. He expects the two people in a relationship to share in and have the same belief in Christ as he is the foundation for all successful godly relationships.
As Christian Believers, we should always keep ourselves focused on the fact that it is Jesus that saves us and only through him do we have access to the Father. It is only in His name that we have salvation and that God acknowledges us. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (Timothy 2:5 WEB) God in no way wants us to accept the theory of other ways to God or consider salvation in any other way. Let us encourage each other to seek only him as a way to the Father. As in his own words, Jesus says to us "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." (John 14:6 WEB)
God encourages us to "Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong." (1 Corinthians 16:13 WEB) in our efforts to address these issues. As the battle rages on for our children we have been given the armor to protect them from the forces that assail them in their lives. It is by applying scripture to our lives and believing on God's word that we are enabled to act as Godly parents and find what our children need. As instructed, we will pray that your daughter accepts a Godly relationship in her life according to God's will and direction and, seek Jesus in her life and encourage them both to do the same.
To God we ask "For this cause we also, since the day we heard this, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that you may walk worthily of the Lord to all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God" (Colossians 1:9,10 WEB) to all praying in the name of Jesus. It is by this we have our answer in faith and the hope that your daughter accepts this word and finds God's way to this issue.
