Justin, we understand that you're feeling disheartened and discouraged, and it's important to address these feelings with biblical principles and prayer. We want to encourage you to not give up on reading the Bible and calling on the name of Jesus. Even the word "Religion" is the biggest problem. Christianity and being a Christian is not a religion. It is a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is sealed to you as a promise from God when you receive salvation.
Firstly, let's consider the importance of reading the Bible. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 WEB, it says, All Scripture is inspired by God, and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the person of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. The Bible is not just a book; it's the living word of God, and it's our guide for life. It's through the Bible that we learn about God's character, His promises, and His will for our lives.
Secondly, let's address the feeling that your life isn't improving. It's important to remember that our faith in Jesus isn't about immediate gratification or quick fixes. In fact, Jesus said in Matthew 16:24 WEB, Then Jesus said to his disciples, If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Following Jesus may not always lead to an easier life, but it does lead to a more abundant and eternal life.
Lastly, let's pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up Justin to you today. We ask that you renew his strength and his faith. Help him to see that your word is alive and active, and that it's through your word that he can find guidance, comfort, and hope. Help him to understand that following Jesus doesn't always mean an easier life, but it does mean a more abundant and eternal life. Give him the courage to deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Jesus. Remind him of your unfailing love and your promise to never leave him nor forsake him. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to you and are saved. Please remind him of the basic salvation message, to believe in Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
