We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your mother and the grief your sister is experiencing. We want to lift her up in prayer and ask God to comfort her in this difficult time. First, we want to remind you that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 WEB. It is also important to understand God's role in our lives as our comforter.
In John 14:16-17 WEB Jesus discussed having to leave his disciples. The Holy Spirit is our Comforter. The Holy Spirit dwells in us and is a gift from the Father. In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 WEB we are told that we should not grieve as others do who have no hope. As our hope is in Jesus Christ. In Acts 4:12 WEB we see that there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved.
John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
It is also important to understand God's role in our lives as our comforter. In 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 WEB we are reminded that God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our ### in her time of need. We ask that You would comfort her in her grief and grant her Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to feel Your presence and to know that You are close to her in this difficult time.
In Jesus' name
Amen
