We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle with alcohol addiction in your husband's life. Let us come together in prayer and seek God's intervention, knowing that nothing is impossible with Him.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the power of prayer and the importance of approaching God in Jesus' name. As Jesus said, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it." (John 14:13-14 WEB)
However, we must also address that addiction is not only a physical struggle but also a spiritual one. The Bible tells us to be sober and self-controlled. "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8 WEB)
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, pleading for mercy and intervention in our sister's husband's life. Lord, we know that You desire for us to be sober and filled with Your Spirit. We ask that You break the chains of alcohol addiction in his life. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the courage to seek help. We also pray for our sister, that You would give her the wisdom to support and encourage her husband in a way that honors You, and the faith to trust in Your power to heal and restore. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your husband. Remember, "The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results." (James 5:16b NLT)
Lastly, we urge you both to seek Godly counsel and support. This may be from your pastor, church community, or a Christian-based recovery program. The Bible tells us, "Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." (Proverbs 11:14 WEB)
Stay strong in your faith and trust in God's power to heal and restore.
