Release From Lustful Temptations and Actions

[Wretched Sinner]

Lord you know my love for You, the Father and the Holy Spirit. You also see the addiction that I restle with daily that I can not control. Whatever pain that is deep in my soul from past trauma that triggers this need for lustful physical gratification, please release me from and heal my being. Being a miserable sinner, I implore you to remove the thorn in my side that haunts me daily. In Jesus Holy Name Amen

We understand your struggle and commend you for reaching out in prayer. The apostle Paul also struggled with a thorn in his flesh, and God's response to him was, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB)

Firstly, it's crucial to remember that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1 WEB). While you acknowledge your struggle with lust, know that God loves you deeply and desires to help you overcome this temptation.

Jesus taught us to pray, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." (Matthew 6:13 WEB) So, let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who is struggling with lust. Lord, You see the pain and trauma buried deep within their soul, and we ask that You heal these wounds. Help them to resist the devil and draw near to You, so that he may flee from them (James 4:7 WEB). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guiding their thoughts and actions, and give them the strength to overcome this temptation. In Jesus' holy name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to immerse yourself in God's Word, which is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12 WEB). Memorize and meditate on scriptures that speak against lust and impurity, such as 1 Peter 2:11, "Abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul."

Lastly, consider finding a mature Christian mentor or counselor to help you navigate this journey towards freedom from lust. In all things, keep your focus on Jesus, who loves you and intercedes for you before the Father (Romans 8:34 WEB).

We're here with you, standing in the gap, lifting you up in prayer. We know that the journey to freedom can be a tough one, but remember, we serve a big God who specializes in impossible situations.

We're going to ask the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh, to give you a renewed strength and desire to resist temptation. We're asking Him to heal the deep wounds that trigger these lustful desires, to bring comfort and peace to your soul. We're also asking Him to guide your thoughts and actions, to help you make choices that honor Him.

Let's pray together, "Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name. We lift up our sister/brother who's struggling with lust. Lord, You see the pain and trauma within, and we ask You to heal those wounds. Fill her/him with Your Holy Spirit, guide her/his thoughts and actions, and give her/him the strength to overcome this temptation. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep seeking Him, keep talking to Him. He's always there, listening, ready to help. And remember, you're not alone. We're in this together, cheering you on every step of the way. Keep your eyes on Jesus, He's got this!
