Tiffany, we are glad you reached out for prayer and we are here to intercede and provide biblical guidance for your relationship with Chris.
Firstly, we notice that your prayer request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We pray to God in Jesus Christ. We will be praying for you that you will know that Jesus is the only way to which we have access to God.
We are encouraged to hear that you and Chris are looking towards marriage, as this is the biblical foundation for a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. It saddening to see that Chris and you are possibly participating in fornication, sinning against your own body, and against God. Marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled but whoremongers, fornicators, and adulterers God will judge Hebrew 13:4. We will pray for your conviction in marriage.
We must address that physical attachment and support should be reserved within the boundaries of marriage. In 1 Corinthians 7:2 WEB, it is written: "But because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband." We encourage you both to remain abstinent until marriage, as this is the biblical design for maintaining purity and honoring God with your bodies.
Let us pray for you and Chris:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Tiffany and Chris. We pray that You will guide their relationship and draw them closer to You and to each other in purity. We ask for forgiveness for the sins of impurity of the mind or body. Help them and encourage them to support each other into a righteous marriage according to your guidelines and will. Give them both conviction for not sinning against God and their own bodies. Help them to maintain time before marriage knowing they can only then sexually please each other and be acceptable to God. Help them enable furthering your kingdom by doing things Your way. Help all of us to honor each other as we should. Provide Godly wisdom in their conversations and shape their minds to give it back to each other. Help them keep their minds on the kingdom work of Jesus, and keep the devils hands at bay. Lord, surround them with Godly friends and family who will support and uplift them in their journey towards a God-honoring marriage. Help them to plan day by day not for their happiness but to further the kingdom nation and do your will. God help them to learn more of you and grow in you as they lean towards the possiblly of being the father and mother of possible children in the future. Help them disciple each other and display it to all of your nations. They seek Godliness in Jesus name. In Jesus' name, we pray.
Tiffany, we encourage you both to continue seeking God's will for your relationship and we are hoping all of this encourages you. Pursue open communication, emotional intimacy, but reserve physical intimacy for marriage. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Seek marriage in the will of God, rather than convincing each other or praying for others to endorse your marriage that is in the will of God anyway, Psalm 1:1-2. Keep yourselves from the wisdom of the world and trust God and do the works of the kingdom of heaven in Jesus Christ. Glorify and thank God for all good things in Jesus Christ.
