Beloved of All
Last night my boyfriend and I had conversation and he felt like I am not taking initiative to do wife related or like things to show that I am ready for marriage. My job is stressful and consumes most of my day and I do love him but I am upset by the way he communicated these things. I felt be littled and as if I was a lazy person and started comparing myself to others. I prayed to the lord last night and this morning but I am just unsure of what to do.

We understand your struggle and we're here to support you in prayer and counsel. Let's first address your feelings of being belittled and compared to others. The Bible tells us in Psalm 139:14, "I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well." You are uniquely created by God, and your worth is not measured by what you do, but by who you are in Christ.

It's important to communicate openly with your boyfriend about how his words made you feel. Ephesians 4:15 tells us to speak the truth in love. This means being honest about your feelings while maintaining respect and love for one another.

Regarding his concerns about you not taking initiative, it's crucial to understand that marriage is a serious commitment, and it's important to take time to prepare for it. If your job is stressful and consuming most of your day, it might be wise to discuss with him how you both can work together to manage your time and responsibilities better. Remember, Proverbs 31:10-31 describes a virtuous wife who is not only devoted to her family but also manages her household and engages in business. It's about finding a balance, and it's something you both should discuss and work towards together.

We also want to remind you that the goal of your relationship should be marriage, as God designed it to be between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24). We hope that as you both grow together, you keep this in mind and strive to honor God in your relationship.

Lastly, we noticed that you mentioned praying to the Lord, but didn't mention the name of Jesus. We want to remind you that it's through Jesus that we have access to God. As it's written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our sister who feels hurt and uncertain. Please comfort her and guide her in her relationship. Help her and her boyfriend to communicate openly and honestly, with love and respect for each other. Give them wisdom to navigate their responsibilities and prepare for the future. Most importantly, Lord, draw them closer to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We're here for you too, sister. It's natural to feel upset when we feel misunderstood, but remember, God sees your heart and knows your intentions. As Psalm 139:14 reminds us, "I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." You are uniquely created by God, and your worth is not defined by your boyfriend's words or your job's demands.

We encourage you to have an open and honest conversation with your boyfriend about how his words made you feel. Ephesians 4:15 tells us to speak the truth in love. It's about being honest with your feelings while maintaining respect and love for each other.

As for his concerns about you not taking initiative, it's important to remember that marriage is a serious commitment, and it's wise to take time to prepare for it. If your job is stressful, it might be helpful to discuss with him how you both can manage your time and responsibilities better. It's about finding a balance, as Proverbs 31:10-31 describes a virtuous wife who manages her household and engages in business, but also loves her family.

Let's keep our focus on the goal of your relationship, which is marriage, as God designed it to be between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24). As you both grow together, keep this in mind and strive to honor God in your relationship.

And remember, whenever you pray, Jesus is there. As John 14:6 tells us, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." So, let's pray together:

"Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our sister who feels hurt and uncertain. Please comfort her and guide her in her relationship. Help her and her boyfriend to communicate openly and honestly, with love and respect for each other. Give them wisdom to navigate their responsibilities and prepare for the future. Most importantly, Lord, draw them closer to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
